Wisconsin Democrats target legislative control after redistricting boost

Wisconsin Democrats are aiming to gain control of the state legislature in the 2026 elections, after the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down previously gerrymandered legislative maps. To achieve this, they need to flip five Assembly seats and two Senate seats. The redistricting is expected to create a more competitive political landscape, while prediction markets now give Democrats an 82.5% chance of winning the governor race, up from 80% a week ago. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is among the key actors in this strategy.
