Why Are Ethereum ETF Outperforming Bitcoin ETF in 2026?

Share

Over the seven days ending July 28, Ethereum ETFs recorded net inflows of 37,959 ETH, approximately $71.17 million, while Bitcoin ETFs experienced outflows of 3,170 BTC, worth around $200.23 million. This marks the third consecutive week of net inflows for Ethereum ETFs, representing a significant reversal from the prior period when these products faced sustained outflows. BlackRock dominates this trend, with its ETHA fund capturing 37,424 of the 37,959 ETH inflows, while its IBIT, the largest Bitcoin ETF, lost 3,511 BTC on its own. Despite Bitcoin’s approximately 4% weekly price increase to nearly $63,900, fund flows diverge from price action, suggesting strategic capital repositioning by institutions. Bitcoin ETFs still hold $76.22 billion in AUM compared to Ethereum’s $9.72 billion, but incremental capital entering the crypto ETF landscape is increasingly weighted toward Ether.
