WEMIX, the blockchain gaming platform by South Korean publisher Wemade, suspended its bridge services and decentralized exchange trading after an attacker drained approximately $724,000 in USDC.e tokens through a linked contract exploit. This attack comes less than 18 months after a major breach in February 2025, during which more than 8.65 million WEMIX tokens were stolen, worth approximately $6.2 million. The platform was in the process of transitioning its native WEMIX$ stablecoin to USDC.e on the WEMIX3.0 network, a process that may have introduced new attack surfaces.
