KB Kookmin Bank, the first South Korean bank to adopt JPMorgan’s Kinexys blockchain platform, plans to launch an August 2026 blockchain-based cross-border USD payment service targeting import-export businesses. The service will enable transfers to ten countries including the United States, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, India, and the UAE, operating 24/7 with real-time settlement using tokenized deposits. This move follows Axis Bank’s similar launch in India in March 2025. For JPMorgan, adding KB Kookmin extends Kinexys’s institutional blockchain footprint, with cumulative volume exceeding $4 trillion since inception.
