Warsh’s hawkish remarks boost Fed rate hike expectations

Kevin Warsh’s hawkish remarks have pushed up expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike. The Fed’s policy rate, held in the 3.50%-3.75% range since December, is now under scrutiny. The probability of a pause in the next three monetary policy decisions has dropped to 49%, down from 67% just 24 hours earlier. This shift reflects growing market concerns about persistent inflation above the Fed’s target.
