Visa announced the acquisition of BioCatch, an Israeli behavioral biometrics company, for $2.4 billion in an all-cash deal. BioCatch analyzes how users interact with their devices, including typing speed, swipe patterns, and phone-holding angles, processing billions of sessions using over 3,000 behavioral and device signals. The company currently protects over 680 million accounts worldwide and serves more than 350 banks globally. This valuation represents roughly an 85% premium over BioCatch’s 2024 valuation when Permira acquired the company for approximately $1.3 billion. The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to close by the end of Visa’s fiscal second quarter of 2027.
