OCEAN Mining has bought out co-founder and 16-year Bitcoin Core veteran developer Luke Dashjr, ending his three leadership roles (chairman, chief technology officer and director). OCEAN still represents approximately 2.45% to 2.88% of Bitcoin blocks across different time windows, corresponding to roughly 25 EH/s of hashrate. Dashjr will launch a new mining venture called CONVOY, but at time of publication, no infrastructure, endpoint, fee policy or block-template policy had been made public. The separation reflects divergent visions on recent protocol developments, notably around BIP-110, without OCEAN disclosing the buyout price or its remaining ownership structure.
