Verizon’s 6G Innovation Forum has added AWS, Cisco, Intel, and Nvidia as new members, joining founding partners including Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, Meta, and Qualcomm. The forum, launched on September 22, 2025, focuses on practical 6G development including identifying real-world use cases, testing devices, and developing network technologies for standardization. Samsung and Verizon conducted a successful AI-powered Integrated Sensing and Communication trial on September 14, 2026, during a major sporting event in Dallas, demonstrating the technology’s potential for applications from autonomous vehicles to smart cities. 3GPP standards work is targeted for around 2028, with commercial 6G rollout expected by approximately 2030. The forum’s expanded membership now covers virtually every layer of the technology stack from silicon to cloud.
