Venezuelan interim authorities have granted U.S.-backed North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) 100-year concessions for 17 oil fields with proven reserves of approximately 65 billion barrels. NABEP is Venezuela’s second-largest private oil producer. The U.S. Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital has acquired a 35% equity stake in the company’s corporate parent, representing up to hundreds of billions of dollars in value and dividends for the United States.
