Coinbase has filed two notifications with the SEC to offer perpetual stock contracts tradable 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The entities Coinbase Derivatives and Coinbase Financial Markets submitted Form 1-N and Form BD-N respectively. The exchange will still need approval from the CFTC, the US derivatives regulator. This initiative aims to reclaim derivative volumes currently generated on offshore platforms and counter the potential expansion of Hyperliquid in the US market. In parallel, the NYSE and Nasdaq plan to extend their trading hours to 22 hours and 23 hours per day respectively.
