Unitree unveiled a humanoid robot called Superman capable of reaching a top speed of 12.66 meters per second, surpassing Usain Bolt’s personal best of 12.42 m/s recorded in 2009. The announcement comes days before the company’s IPO in Shanghai, where it raised 6.1 billion yuan, approximately 905 million dollars, valuing the firm near 9 billion dollars. The company generated 1.7 billion yuan in revenue last year, more than four times its 2024 figure, with net profit hitting 591 million yuan. Unitree shipped over 5,500 humanoid units in 2025, primarily destined for research labs and entertainment buyers. IPO proceeds will fund embodied artificial intelligence, new robot models and manufacturing capacity.
