A Ukrainian drone strike disabled the primary distillation unit CDU-6 at Rosneft’s Saratov refinery overnight on July 7-8, 2026. The unit can process 20,000 metric tons of crude per day. The refinery, which processed 4.8 million metric tons of crude in 2023, has halted all refining operations. Russian authorities confirmed at least one death and several injuries in the Saratov area. Ukraine’s aerial operations in 2026 have reportedly disabled over 30% of Russia’s total operational oil-refinery capacity.
