UK government adds seven new designations to Iran sanctions list

The United Kingdom has added seven new individuals and entities to its Iran sanctions list, bringing the total number of designations in 2026 to over thirty. These sanctions impose asset freezes and travel bans on the targeted parties. The move follows a pattern of regular updates by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, which had already carried out three other rounds of designations earlier this year. Major international banks routing significant transaction volumes through London typically enforce these sanctions, effectively cutting off designated parties from access to one of the world’s largest financial centers.
