The UAE Ministry of Defence on August 31 denied reports that missiles struck Al Menhad Air Base, calling the claims false. Iran had previously stated it launched dozens of attack drones at the same base in retaliation for a US strike on Larak Island on August 30. The ministry confirmed, however, that a drone originating from Iran was intercepted over Emirati territorial waters on the same day. Al Menhad Air Base is widely acknowledged as hosting US military assets in the UAE. The United States has not issued a public statement on the incident at this stage.
