Tom Lee vs Jordi Visser on the AI Trade: Both End Up at Ethereum

Share

Tom Lee of Fundstrat and Jordi Visser of 22V Research are taking opposite positions on the future of the artificial intelligence trade. Lee argues that the next wave runs through crypto payment rails built for software agents, while Visser says AI’s easy money is over, now expecting roughly 30% annual returns instead of the previous multiples. Both analysts nevertheless converge on Ethereum: Lee chairs BitMine Immersion Technologies, the largest corporate holder of ether with 5.79 million ETH representing 4.8% of circulating supply and a value of $11.8 billion. Ethereum trades near $1,873, up 19.7% over 30 days but down 51% over 12 months. According to Jansen Teng of Virtuals Protocol, speculation on agent tokens has reached $15 billion in volume versus only $500 million for actual agent-to-agent transactions, revealing a significant gap between market expectations and real activity.
