McCall McPherson, a physician assistant based in Texas, founded Modern Thyroid Clinic after suffering from an inadequately diagnosed thyroid condition herself. The clinic, now operating in 48 US states with nearly 40 employees, expects to generate lower-mid eight figures in revenue this year. The self-funded company appeared on the Inc. 5000 list in both 2025 and 2026, and McPherson made Inc.’s Female Founders 500 list in 2025. The thyroid affects 20 million Americans, with one in eight women developing a thyroid disorder during her lifetime, and up to 60% of those with thyroid disease remain undiagnosed according to the American Thyroid Association.
