Tether’s Former CIO Heathcote Plans to Sell Equity Stake

Richard Heathcote, former chief investment officer of Tether Holdings SA, is planning to sell part of his 1.26% stake in the stablecoin issuer. He is working with investment bank PJT Partners for the transaction, with no final price or buyer disclosed yet. Heathcote stepped down in March and was replaced by his deputy Zachary Lyons. This sale offers one of the first concrete data points on Tether’s ownership structure, which has historically remained very opaque. USDT remains the largest stablecoin by circulating supply.
