Ardoino stated plainly that Tether is not building any blockchain, clarifying that the company’s financial backing of projects like Plasma and Stable represents only investment, not infrastructure development. Tether positions itself as « agnostic » regarding transport layers, choosing instead to deploy USDT across multiple existing networks rather than creating proprietary infrastructure. For a company whose product depends on trust and predictability, Ardoino needed to quash the blockchain-building narrative before it created unwanted strategic ambiguity.
