Telegram has filed an application with ICANN to obtain its own top-level domain .gram. If approved, the app’s one billion users could receive personalized web addresses like username.gram, generated through a single AI prompt. ICANN received over 1,600 primary applications and 1,100 backup requests during the 2026 round, the first since 2012, placing .gram in a heavily congested queue. The body will publish the list of approved strings by mid-October, though a working launch appears unlikely before 2027. The GRAM token, rebranded from Toncoin in June, trades near $1.32, representing an 84% decline from its June 2024 record high of $8.25, with a market capitalization of $3.65 billion.
