Strategy posts $8.3 billion operating loss as Bitcoin falls 27% year to date

Strategy reported an $8.33 billion operating loss for the second quarter as Bitcoin fell approximately 27% this year. The company held 843,775 Bitcoin as of July 26, with a market value of $54.77 billion against an original acquisition cost of $63.69 billion. The average purchase price stood at roughly $75,476 per Bitcoin, leaving the holdings below their aggregate cost. Strategy posted a net loss of $8.22 billion and reduced its convertible debt by 18% to $6.71 billion. The company raised $17.06 billion through its capital markets programs during the year.
