Step App unplugs: move-to-earn buries one of its pioneers

Step App is shutting down all operations on August 21, ending four years of activity. The application that rewarded physical activity with cryptocurrencies will completely close its services, giving users until that date to unstake their tokens, manage their positions and withdraw their assets. The FITFI token, which went from $0.0049 at IDO to a peak of $0.73, approximately 150 times higher, has lost more than 99% of its value and was delisted by Bithumb on August 18, stripping the token of most of its Korean trading volume. FITFI’s trajectory illustrates the move-to-earn model’s inability to maintain the balance between regular token emissions from rewards and demand from new users, staking or NFT purchases. FITFI and KCAL holders must urgently recover their assets before the services shut down.
