Starknet completes quantum-resistant signature transfer test on mainnet

Starknet has successfully executed a quantum-resistant transaction on its live mainnet using a Falcon-512 post-quantum digital signature, marking the first time this type of transaction was performed on production blockchain infrastructure. The transaction cost approximately six cents, demonstrating the economic viability of this technology for consumer-grade use. The achievement leverages Starknet’s existing STARK proving system, which is inherently resistant to quantum attacks, while native account abstraction enabled the upgrade at the account level without requiring a protocol-wide overhaul. StarkWare has launched a three-phase post-quantum cryptographic roadmap to migrate remaining elliptic-curve cryptography dependencies to post-quantum alternatives. This success positions Starknet as potentially the first network capable of executing low-cost quantum-resistant transactions at scale, with no comparable mainnet implementation on Ethereum L1 or any major L2.
