Solana has deployed its new V1 transaction format on testnet, expanding the maximum serialized transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, a 3.3x increase. This upgrade, defined by SIMD-0296 and SIMD-0385 proposals, natively supports zero-knowledge proofs, large multisig transactions, confidential transfers, and BLS signatures within a single atomic transaction. Mainnet activation is confirmed for September 9, 2026. Developers have roughly two weeks of testnet to test and catch bugs before production deployment.
