This revival of the trenches, the chaotic high-speed environment where brand-new tokens are launched, traded, and mostly forgotten within hours, signals a return of retail speculation to Solana’s memecoin ecosystem. Nearly all of these launches originated on Pump.fun, the dominant platform since early 2024 that uses bonding curve mechanics to let anyone create a token with minimal friction. Only about 1 percent or fewer of newly created tokens achieve any meaningful sustained liquidity or trading activity, meaning the vast majority of those 313,000 tokens will never see a second week of meaningful life. Solana memecoin spot trading volume hit $5.2 billion for the week, the strongest reading since late 2025.
