Solana just boosted block capacity by a massive 66%, but the one bottleneck infuriating traders hasn’t budged

Solana raised its per-block compute ceiling from 60 million to 100 million CUs on July 29, a 66.7% increase. This change provides more room for unrelated transactions but leaves the 12 million-CU per-account cap unchanged. Transactions targeting the same hot account therefore remain constrained by this ceiling, creating a persistent bottleneck for traders. Official materials do not yet show post-upgrade measurements for transaction inclusion, fees, propagation, or replay. Solana ranks seventh by market cap.
