OpenAI has published a blog post titled « Apple is getting this wrong » in response to Apple’s lawsuit claiming the company stole its trade secrets. Apple had claimed it contacted OpenAI in February without receiving a response, but OpenAI says Apple now admits its lawyers emailed the wrong person after confusing two Asian last names. Apple has also conceded that a claimed discussion with OpenAI’s General Counsel never actually happened. OpenAI further states that former Apple employees only accessed company information after leaving because Apple itself requested this when unable to access the files in their absence.
