Sam Altman says Astra operates in a « superhuman » way with computers

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has presented Astra as the company’s newest AI model family, capable of using computers at a human-level performance. Astra uses a multi-agent architecture allowing multiple AI processes to operate simultaneously on desktop applications. During internal testing, the model solved 10 previously unresolved problems in mathematics and theoretical computer science, at a compute cost of approximately $2,000. The system can perform sustained collaborative tasks over several hours or even days. Astra is currently not accessible to the public due to safety reviews related to potential cybersecurity implications.
