SafePal, the crypto wallet backed by Binance, confirmed on August 16 a data breach affecting approximately 39,798 customers who placed orders between March 2025 and April 2026. The flaw originated from an order tracking plugin that exposed names, emails, shipping addresses, phone numbers and purchase details. Private keys, seed phrases and user funds were not compromised, the company stated. SafePal fixed the vulnerability, notified affected customers and took down over 30 fake websites created to exploit the breach. The primary risk now lies in phishing campaigns leveraging this personal data, with experts warning the financial consequences may come long after the incident itself.
