Robinhood’s event contracts business earns $156M in Q2 revenue, surpassing crypto and equities

Robinhood reported record Q2 2026 earnings with total revenue of $1.31 billion, a 32% year-over-year increase. The event contracts segment generated $156 million in revenue, surpassing both crypto and equities trading for the first time. Trading volume reached 13.6 billion contracts in Q2, up from 8.8 billion in Q1 2026. Event contracts, which allow users to bet on outcomes of real-world events such as elections and economic data releases, have become the company’s largest transaction revenue category in roughly 12 months. The growth comes as crypto trading revenue softened, highlighting a shift in retail investor preferences toward prediction markets.
