Robinhood CEO’s X account hacked in apparent memecoin scam

Vlad Tenev, CEO of Robinhood, had his X account hacked on Thursday to promote a fraudulent memecoin named « VLAD » along with a malicious token contract address. The post attracted over 175,000 views in less than 20 minutes before users identified it as a scam. The hackers managed to exploit approximately 650 ETH, valued between $1.2 million and $1.3 million. Robinhood confirmed the hack and said it is working with X to restore access. Robinhood Chain’s blockchain explorer has since labeled the token’s contract address as a scam.
