Ripple announced on August 28 a $300,000 donation for emergency relief following catastrophic flash floods that struck Nepal and China’s Tibetan region two days earlier. The floods, triggered by a glacial collapse along the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, swept through Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts, with fatality estimates ranging from 359 to over 630 and more than 1,300 people still missing. UNICEF has reported that over 17,000 children have been directly affected and issued an urgent appeal for $17.2 million. Ripple is channeling its donation through World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps to deliver food, clean water, and sanitation services to the devastated communities.
