In late September 2025, he announced he would resign as Ripple CTO at the end of the year, while already running his own XRP Ledger node. His recent comments on X reassured XRP supporters who feared he was completely abandoning the ecosystem. A technical issue affecting the XRP Ledger network, related to a manifest flood, was reported in mid-July, causing nodes to lose peers. Version 3.2.1 of the XRP Ledger, released shortly after, fixes the problem by imposing four limits on manifests from unknown validator keys.
