Crypto PAC pours another $1M into Michigan House race

Protect Progress, an affiliate of Fairshake PAC, spent an additional one million dollars to support Representative Shri Thanedar in his Michigan House primary, scheduled for Tuesday. Thanedar supported the GENIUS Act on stablecoins and the CLARITY Act on digital asset market structure. His opponent McKinney accused the crypto lobby of paying Thanedar back for helping Trump generate over one billion dollars in crypto profits since taking office. Trump reportedly earned more than 1.4 billion dollars in crypto investments in 2025, including from his memecoin Official Trump and World Liberty Financial. Fairshake and its affiliates hold a war chest of 193 million dollars and have already spent millions in other states including Texas, Illinois, Washington and Alabama.
