The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) granted Revolut conditional approval to establish a national bank named Revolut Bank US, N.A., allowing the London-based fintech to operate across all 50 states. The company, which currently serves roughly one million US customers through a partnership with Lead Bank, must still secure FDIC deposit insurance and Federal Reserve approval before launching operations targeted for the first half of 2027. Revolut plans to capitalize its US bank with approximately $95 million, having already invested nearly $500 million in its US expansion. Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the bank will employ about 160 staff at launch and offer checking accounts, debit cards, installment loans, and foreign exchange services. With a valuation of $75 billion and over 80 million global customers, Revolut has cleared the hardest regulatory hurdle in obtaining its US banking license.
