Major financial institutions, lawmakers and companies support the bill, hoping for its passage before Congress departs for its August recess. An updated version was introduced last week, including ethics measures banning government officials and their families from issuing or promoting cryptocurrency. The Wyoming senator, who has held Bitcoin since 2013, has played a key role in drafting several pro-cryptocurrency bills.
