A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted on August 19 reveals that 63% of Americans consider it inappropriate for President Trump and his family to profit from cryptocurrency ventures since returning to power in January 2025, compared to 32% who find those profits appropriate. Financial disclosures filed with the US Office of Government Ethics show that the family reported more than $1.4 billion in crypto-related income as of June 30, 2026, with total estimated profits reaching at least $2.3 billion. Two ventures account for the bulk of these gains: World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance platform co-founded by Trump and his sons, generated nearly $800 million in reported crypto income, including over $520 million from governance token sales alone. The $TRUMP meme coin, launched on the Solana blockchain around Inauguration Day in January 2025, has contributed approximately $635 million in family profits since its debut.
