Nvidia has invested $5 billion in Safe Superintelligence, the AI safety startup founded by Ilya Sutskever, former chief scientist at OpenAI. This major equity stake grants SSI access to Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin GPU platform. The company, with teams in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, had previously raised approximately $6 billion in total funding, backed by investors including Greenoaks Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, and Alphabet. SSI, which has no commercial products and generates no revenue, now commands a valuation of $32 billion. Alphabet had already partnered with SSI in April 2025, and this commitment from Nvidia represents an escalation of an existing funding relationship.
