George Cottrell, a convicted fraudster and Nigel Farage backer, received $9 million into his Polymarket account in October 2024 from two unknown sources. Nearly $7 million came from a wallet on cryptocurrency exchange OKX and $1.83 million from a wallet on ChangeNOW. These funds were used almost immediately to bet on Trump winning the US election. Cottrell, who was convicted in 2017 for wire fraud and money laundering related to drug trafficking, subsequently transferred $13 million in winnings to an OKX wallet and $282,000 to ChangeNOW.
