Ballistic missiles were launched from at least two sites in western Iran, in Khorramabad and Kangavar in Lorestan province, according to Iranian citizen journalist Vahid Online. The Khorramabad site houses the Imam Ali ballistic missile base, a key Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) installation previously involved in multiple rounds of missile activity in the first half of 2026. US forces have struck Iranian rocket launchers near the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic passage through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil passes daily. Vahid Online, run by Mir-Vahid Hassantabar and followed by approximately 1.4 million subscribers on Telegram and X, has emerged as a key information source on the conflict, filling the void left by restricted Iranian state media.
