SK hynix leads the HBM market with 56.4% market share, while Samsung dominates global DRAM production and Micron rounds out the trio as the only major US-based player in the space. Nvidia’s memory procurement commitments surged from $119 billion to $279 billion in a single quarter, with payments scheduled through 2029, creating unprecedented supply chain risk. Analysts however warn that memory markets historical boom-bust cycles remain an intrinsic feature of the sector despite the unprecedented scale of AI-driven demand.
