Mastercard has completed its acquisition of BVNK, a stablecoin infrastructure provider headquartered in London and San Francisco. The deal, first announced in March, aims to combine Mastercard’s global network with BVNK’s on-chain technology to offer stablecoin-based payment services to institutional clients. The combined platform will support stablecoin-powered cross-border payments, payouts, settlement, and treasury services. BVNK, backed by investors including Concentric, Tiger Global, Haun Ventures, Visa Ventures, Citi Ventures and Coinbase Ventures, enables businesses to manage fiat and stablecoin payment flows through APIs by connecting traditional banking systems with blockchain networks.
