Liquid recovered 3,400 BTC in its federation wallet on Sept. 7 following an attack that drained its reserves. The hackers sent back most of the funds to the federation address after posting an on-chain message asking « is that ok? », retaining approximately 598.5 BTC worth roughly $47 million at the time. Blockstream still listed an active security incident and a major outage affecting public bridge nodes on Sept. 8. The return of these 3,400 BTC does not guarantee full L-BTC backing or the reopening of withdrawal services, with access remaining subject to confirmation from individual services.
