Japanese game developer Gumi will launch a 3 billion yen (approximately $18.3 million) cryptocurrency fund on Saturday in partnership with SBI Financial Services, with backing from Daiwa Securities Group. The fund will invest in Bitcoin and major altcoins using staking, portfolio rebalancing and hedging strategies. Operated by SBI Crypto Fund, a joint venture between SBI Financial Services and Gumi subsidiary gC Labs, the fund aims to connect Japan’s corporate sector with the crypto market. Gumi’s crypto holdings have nearly doubled to 14.13 billion yen as of April 30, 2026, up from 7.58 billion yen a year earlier, with XRP at the center of its crypto business.
