Block, the fintech co-founded by Jack Dorsey, acquired 234 Bitcoin in the first half of 2026, bringing its total holdings to 9,117 BTC by June 30. Despite this increase, a sharp decline in Bitcoin’s price caused the portfolio’s value to drop from $777 million at the end of 2025 to approximately $534 million, resulting in over $260 million in losses during the first six months of the year. However, second-quarter results exceeded expectations with adjusted EPS of $1.02, up 64.5% year-over-year, and revenue of $6.6 billion. Cash App’s strong performance, with gross profit rising over 30% year-over-year, helped offset a 13% decline in Bitcoin Ecosystem revenue.
