The rumor that PayPal would add the PI token to its crypto payment ecosystem has proven false. Pi Network announced that changes to app creation pricing will take effect on August 24: the fixed 0.25 PI fee will be replaced by prices reflecting actual costs and AI expenses. Developers whose apps demonstrate real utility for users will keep the subsidized rates. The PI token surged 11% to nearly $0.096, its highest level in two weeks, bringing its market cap back to $1 billion. However, the token remains 97% below its all-time high of $2.99 set in February 2025.
