A Hyperliquid platform user lost 550,019 USDC (approximately $550,000) in a phishing attack that occurred on August 13. Attackers purchased Google Search advertisements with Hyperliquid-related keywords to redirect users to a fake website mimicking the official platform. The funds were then transferred to three blockchain addresses, totaling 440,015 USDC, 82,503 USDC, and 27,501 USDC respectively. Google subsequently suspended the fraudulent advertising campaign. The Security Alliance (SEAL) had previously identified over 356 malicious advertising URLs targeting cryptocurrency wallets and platforms.
