These revelations come at a sensitive time for the platform, whose HYPE token hit an all-time high of $86.71 on August 27, driven by hopes of entry into the US market. Donald Trump and the CFTC are seeking to bring the decentralized exchange under US oversight through a structure involving Payward, the parent company of Kraken, and Bitnomial. According to Chainalysis, North Korea allegedly diverted approximately $2 billion in cryptocurrency during 2025.
