Jack Link, a 40-year-old father living in Minong, Wisconsin, launched his beef jerky business in 1985 after his slaughterhouse went bankrupt. His company, Link Snacks, generated over $1.6 billion in retail sales in 2025, with the US meat snacks market growing 42% since 2023. Facing record beef prices in 2026 due to US tariffs, the company raised prices by at least 10% while developing new organic and clean-ingredient product lines to compete with emerging players like Chomps and Archer Meat Snacks.
