Share

Google has released version 1.0.0 of its Gen AI Kotlin SDK, giving developers an idiomatic way to integrate Gemini models across Android, server-side, and multiplatform projects. The SDK targets Kotlin 1.9 and above, Java 17 and above, and Android API 21 and above, covering virtually all Android devices since Lollipop in 2014. The release bundles two key APIs: the Gemini Developer API for text generation and multimodal interactions, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform API for orchestrating complex enterprise workflows with AI agents. ML Kit GenAI APIs also enable on-device processing, eliminating latency and cloud costs while preserving data privacy. Running in parallel, Google launched the Agent Development Kit version 0.1.0 and JetBrains released Koog 1.0, a Kotlin-native framework specifically designed for AI agent development.
