According to a Goldman Sachs report, America’s energy sector will need approximately 500,000 additional workers by 2030 to meet growing demand. The energy apprenticeship pipeline recorded only 45,000 new entrants in 2024, while the sector requires 65,000 professionals annually. This structural labor shortage is pushing companies toward humanoid robots, with the market expected to grow from 20,000 units in 2025 to 1.4 million by 2035, a 6,900% increase. The humanoid robot market is currently valued at around $3 billion and could reach $200 billion by 2035. China has already deployed robots in its energy sector, including a $1 billion initiative for 8,500 AI-powered robots for national power grid inspection and maintenance.
